Request an Audit
Who should apply? IF you have an older home that is heated with electric baseboard, wall, furnace, or heat pump then you qualify for the weatherization program.
What does the weatherization program cover? We come to your home and do a free energy audit that looks at the attic, walls, floor, duct work and windows. We then recommend where you need to do work to bring the home up to today’s insulation code. Only existing electrically heated space can be covered. If you are adding rooms or gutting and remodeling or new construction then the audit and rebates won’t cover that activity.
The first step is to get an application for the residential weatherization audit and fill it out and sign it and mail it back to us.
The rebates are based on the recommended items at the time of the audit. Anything done before the audit won’t get a rebate.
We give you recommendations based on the highest energy savings. For example an R 11 attic insulation would lose more heat than, a floor that isn’t insulated or than single pane windows. For this reason we won’t pay on just windows if the home has major areas that aren’t up to the insulation code.
The rebates available at this time are:
Attic insulation up to $0.75 a Sq Ft.
Wall insulation up to $0.75 a Sq Ft.
Floor insulation up to $0.75 a Sq Ft.
Duct work in attic or crawlspace up to $400 for sealing and insulating.
Window replacements that are rated at .30 U values or LOWER at $5 a Sq Ft.
Please contact Steve Holmes or Patrick Urain at the PUD before you start any remodeling project at your home.
